I have enjoyed drawing, painting and making things with my hands, for as long as I can remember. I lack formal training in art, so, in my pursuit to become a better artist, I have had to rely on books, magazines, trial and error, and any other means available to me to educate myself. I have worked very diligently, making every effort to increase my knowledge and sharpen my skills so that I can improve the quality of my artwork. I love to draw but I have also tried many other mediums as well, hoping to find one that fit my style and one that I was comfortable with. I finally found that with Scratchboard and since my introduction to it, it has become the primary focus for my creative efforts. I find the textures and the special effects that can be achieved, might only be limited by ones imagination. As I have committed myself to learning more and more about the medium of Scratchboard, the group of Scratchboard artists I have met and gotten to know along the way, have proven to be most kind, generous and supportive individuals I know. They have been very willing to share their knowledge and expertise, and because of their willingness to share, I have become a much better artist and, I think, a better person as well.
While I do work on other subject matter from time to time I am basically a nature and wildlife artist. I hope that as people look at my work they are able to see and enjoy a small portion of the beauty that lies all around us but is so often overlooked or missed out on as we hustle about in our busy daily lives.
